The Canadian Libertarian Movement

There is a strong libertarian culture in Canada in the sense that many if not most Canadians believe in freedom as well as self-reliance. People who grow their own gardens, chop their own firewood, and are defensive about government intervention in their private lives abound in Canada. The ideology of freedom and self-reliance or “no harm no foul” can be said to be part of Canadian culture.

There are also activists and politicians that clearly identify with left or right libertarian politics. ANTIFA-Canada is a far left libertarian group. The Libertarian Party of Canada and its founders are center-right libertarians.
